THE two-day landscape seminar hosted by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) came to fruitful end recently with a list of suggestions and recommendations from participants.

During the two-day seminar, PJ mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman hoped participants had understood the concept of turning the city green as well as the ways to overcome it together.

The seminar was attended by councillors, council officers, private agencies, NGOs, academicians and other stakeholders.

The inaugural seminar was a collaboration between the council and the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Design and Architecture Faculty.

“The topics discussed will be an action plan for the residents to use as a declaration in turning Petaling Jaya into a greener city,” said Roslan at the closing ceremony.

He thanked the residents and the corporate sectors for constantly offering their suggestions and recommendations on ways to improve the city’s environment and infrastructure.

Roslan was also presented with an Environment Declaration Manifesto by UPM’s department of landscape architecture Prof Dr Mustafa Kamal Mohd Sharif.
