THIS December, 10 rock and roll bands are set to take centre stage at Cee Jay’s Place in Petaling Jaya.
The rock and roll music event which will be held on Dec 12 is organised by the pub in collaboration with its charity partner, MAA–MEDIcare Kidney Charity Fund.
Pub co-owner Christopher Joseph said the charity music fiesta would include a line-up of 10 local bands, each with their own, unique touches of rock and roll sounds and styles.
The Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB) will be the official beer sponsor for the event.
“Our patrons will be able to enjoy good music and also play a role in making a difference in the lives of these kidney patients,” said Joseph.
Combining the best of music genres to the finest of Malaysia’s musical roots, the pub promises great music with the rock and roll line-up.
MAA-MEDIcare Kidney Charity Fund vice-president Aliyah Karen said she hoped the event would raise more than RM100,000.
“Proceeds coming from the sales of auction items, as well as food and beverages throughout the event will be channelled towards the upgrading of MAA-MEDIcare’s dialysis centres as well as the buying of medical equipment,” she said.
The fund is an independent public trust fund, established to provide subsidised dialysis treatment to kidney failure patients all over Malaysia.
MAA-MEDIcare operates 12 dialysis centres in cities and towns in Malaysia, including one centre each in Sabah and Sarawak, providing medical care and expertise for the patients.
Their centres now house 166 dialysis machines which serve almost 700 patients.
Cee Jay’s is located at 29, Jalan Bukit 11/2, Petaling Jaya.
