Run to help poor patients

PASSIONATELY YOU hosted a 4.5km fun run to benefit the Assunta Hospital for its Community Treatment Programmes for the poor.

“Proceeds from the run will help provide life-saving resources for poor patients,” said Assunta Hospital chief executive officer Choy Wah Wei.

The most recent charity activities by Passionately You raised up to RM200,000.

A total of 1,300 people showed up for the cause, with 1,000 taking part in the run while their families and friends cheered them on.

Celebrity cast members of the fundraising play, Wacky Bar, such as Amber Chia, Joanna Bessey, Gavin Yap, Na’a Murad, Iedil Putra, Shamaine Othman, Junji Delfino, Joanne Kam Poh Poh and Daphne Iking were present to show support for the cause and took part in the run.

“We made this run more meaningful and more rewarding. By getting their heart rate up with us and putting their heart in the right place, participants become part of this effort to help individuals and families struggling to cope with cervical and breast cancer.

“We hope we can create more awareness on this subject and raise awareness of the increasing frequency of this disease. It does not discriminate and can strike anyone at any age. Everyone knows of someone dealing with cervical or breast cancer,” said the cast of Wacky Bar.
