HARDCORE Microsoft XBOX360 gamers turned up in droves to get their latest version of the Modern Warfare 2 game at the Gamer’s Hideout outlet in Damansara’s e@Curve last week.

With sales exceeding US$300mil (RM1.01bil) in North America and Europe, the local gamers in Malaysia did not miss out on the opportunity of owning a limited-edition set that includes a night-vision goggle and a stand modelled after a main character called Mactavish from the game genre.

Gamer’s Hideout co-founder Jason Loh said a large crowd had formed a long queue at the game’s midnight launch on Nov 9.

“Those who bought a copy of the game will stand a chance to win a prestige edition which is the ultimate prize sought by Modern Warfare hardcore gamers,” he said.

The gamers who bought the game, he added, were the first Malaysians to own the original gaming software which was released worldwide on Oct 10.

Some 4.7 million copies of the game was sold on the day of its launch.
