IN conjunction with the magazine’s 15th anniversary, Flavours has lined up some pretty mouth-watering, gourmet gifts that readers may wish for. Here’s your chance to dine for free with a loved one or the whole jing-bang at some of KL’s top tables, on menus starting from RM500 to over RM1,000.
At Shangri-La KL’s fine dining restaurant, Lafite, Chef Damon Campbell has prepared a menu for two using fresh ingredients at their finest in his trademark, molecular gastronomy-inspired cooking style. Be surprised by his caviar donut and lemon tree.
For die-hard carnivores, dinner at Prime at the Le Meridien is the perfect steak-out. Here executive chef Antoine Rodriguez will regale you with his prime cuts of beef. For the adventurous, Hilton KL’s Senses has a pretty exciting taste safari awaiting.
And lovers of Italian food are invited to discover the fine cuisine of Andrea Zanella of Chiaroscuro.
For those who prefer to dine with friends, Elegant Inn (Menara Hap Seng) and Shanghai of JW Marriott, two of KL’s best Chinese restaurants, offer a table for five and four respectively.
Some of the gifts for cooks include Mario Batali’s hand-cast pots and pans, the covetable Kenwood K-Mix hand blenders and cooking classes at Cuisine Studio, where you will learn techniques to help you enjoy the natural taste of food.
Foodies can look forward to tempting treats such as exquisite hand-made chocolates from Teuscher of Switzerland. Flown from Zurich on a weekly basis, Teuscher’s signature champagne truffles have been voted by Zagat’s Survey in the United States as the “best on the planet”.
For wine lovers, there is the Tenuta Dell Ornellaia 2006, a red Italian wine that was rated 97 points and given the accolade of being “monumental” by wine critic Robert Parker.
The full list of gifts and entry forms can be found in the Nov-Dec 2009 Flavours, available now at major newsstands and bookstores at only RM10.80.
