FUNNY man Zakry Kamal beat 632 others during the Cadbury Chocettes Small Doses of Happiness Championship with his skit that induced laughter all around and impressed the judges enough to earn him the grand prize of RM10,000.
To win, he had to go through the first elimination process where the public voted for their favourite uploaded videos online and a second elimination round that saw the 20 public favourite videos cut to six finalists.
After him came first runner-up Andrew Woon Kah Joon who won RM1,000 and second runner-up Mohd Danial Aizat Mat Husin who took home RM1,000 as well.
The event held at The Curve lasted almost seven hours and drew a crowd of about 1,500 people who were treated to various laughter-inducing activities including a therapeutic Laughter Yoga Therapy Session with Professor Dr Dhilip Kumar.
Seasoned stand-up comedians Andrew Netto and Mathew George from Young Comedians of Malaysia (YCOM) added their brand of humour to the stage games that was organised in addition to performances by Urban Groove and Segi College cheerleaders.
This event is the first of its kind that provided a platform for young talents to spread their wings.
“Much like Cadbury Chocettes, they spread small doses of happiness and fun,” Cadbury Malaysia group brand manager Yee Pek Kuan said.
People who were at the event also got to play carnival games and win prizes like Ipod Nanos, Guess watches, movie tickets as well as Cadbury goodie bags and merchandise.
The Hitz.FM cruisers were also present to show their support and give away prizes to the audience.
