KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a former secretary-general of a ministry for alleged graft involving a project worth more than RM10mil.
It is believed that the 56-year-old Datuk was arrested at his office at about 10am Tuesday by a combined MACC task force.
Sources said the former secretary-general, who was alleged to have accepted kickbacks as an inducement to approve a research grant for a technology project in Penang
He is expected to be charged today in Shah Alam.
MACC has seized certain documents from him and had recorded his statement as well as that of the company officials’ that allegedly paid the money to him.
