BODYBAR, a new beauty retail concept store that specialises in all-natural and organic skincare and body care products was officially launched recently.
The store carries hand-picked brands from around the world, including Malaysia, that meet its brand philosophy of “If it’s not good enough to eat, it’s not good enough for your skin”.
“Beauty matters, absolutely, but shouldn’t what you put on your skin matter too?” asked Michelle Chen, co-owner of bodybar.
“All of us – women, men and children use the basic soap, cleanser, shampoo, and moisturiser. Some of us, in fact, love to indulge ourselves more than others in our beauty regimens.
“What bodybar offers is an alternative to conventional products via all-natural and organic products that contain only the good stuff and none of the harsh chemicals, synthetic ingredients, parabens, artificial fragrance or colouring.” said Chen.

Chen, who herself went through a tried-and-tested method over the past few years in finding skincare products that suited her sensitive skin, said she had a very strict ingredients policy.
“We do all the homework for our customers and test them on ourselves so that customers can shop with confidence.”
She also explained that before brands are selected, she would actually meet with the makers of these products so that she is assured of their commitment not only to the brand’s philosophy but also to delivering products that work as well if not better than their commercial synthetic-based products.
On pricing, Chen said that bodybar’s main aim is to make the products accessible and as such prices are kept affordable.
“You can get a bar of natural soap for RM10 while most of the skincare and body care products are priced below RM100,” she said.
At present, bodybar is at Tropicana City Mall, Sunway Pyramid and Pavilion.
“You don’t have to be an environmental warrior or an organic guru to appreciate products like these. All we want to ensure is that there are safer alternatives out there for people to choose from so that they can continue to indulge in their beauty regimens minus the worry,” said Chen.
Currently, the brands carried are Mukti Botanicals, Remedica, Madara, Sanctum, Biguine bio, bioBotanica, Just Herbal, Organic Indulgence, Yuan Soap and Soapy.
