BUKIT MERTAJAM: Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) expects to incur losses of almost RM3mil in Penang by the end of this year due to cable theft, which is becoming more rampant.
Its Penang general manager Lai Hook Kian said that up till September, the company had recorded losses of RM2.7mil.
“The losses involved 465 cases of cable theft reported in Penang, especially in North Seberang Perai,” he told reporters at a function here Wednesday.
He said last year, Penang TM recorded losses of RM2.5mil due to cable theft.
