Wan cards a 77 to bag Gross title

WAN Kamaruzaman won the Gross title in the grand final of the Cross Creek Pharmaton Amateur Golf Circuit at the Awana Genting Highlands Golf and Country Club recently.

Wan, who is a six handicapper, carded a superb 77 to finish two strokes ahead of runner-up M. Sasikumar and third-placed Soldin Sidol.

Ong Chin Kwang was the winner in the A Medal with a nett 67. Trailing Ong by a stroke was Loi Leong Ching who settled for the second spot while Saaban Miskin was third on 70.

The B Medal went to S.M. Raj after carding a 65. Three strokes adrift was Otoh Sibik Sahak on 68 and in third place was Onn Cheng Sam on 73.

Aminah Othman emerged as the champion in the women’s category with a nett 76. June Yap was second on 77 while Jessie Teng Kim Hong was third on 81.

In the guests’ category, M. Kumar was declared the winner on countback ahead of Richard Leong and Nor Afendi Mohd Razlan. All three were tied on 36 points.
