DUBAI: Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), especially Dubai, are keen to learn from each other the care and development of children with special needs.
The matter was discussed when Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, had an audience with Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein on Sunday.
Princess Haya is the wife of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE’s Vice-President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
“My delegation and I are inspired by the work that’s being done at the Al Noor Training Centre for Chil-
dren With Special Needs,” Rosmah, told reporters
before flying home on Monday
night.
Rosmah, who was in Dubai for the Women in Leadership Forum, also took the opportunity to visit the training centre on Sunday.
She also informed the princess about plans to convene the Summit of First Ladies on Nurturing Women Leaders of Tomorrow in Malaysia next year.
“Princess Haya has offered her full support for the proposed conference,” Rosmah said, adding that she had invited the princess to attend the summit.
She had called for the convening of the summit to seek ways to advance women’s role in leadership as well as address issues affecting them in her keynote address at the forum.
