Enjoy a night out and do your bit for charity by being apart of Deepavali Nite 2009.
About 50 artistes will be performing in the event to be held at the Petaling Jaya Civic Centre on Oct 11.
It will be a night filled with melodious songs, dance and drama performances .
A part of the profits from ticket sales will be distributed to three charity homes in Kajang.
Among those who will performing are THR Raaga Uthaya, and Dillip Varman Alinda, Yoges and Sivakumar.
The audience in the three-hour event will automatically stand a chance to take part in the Best Dressed Mr Deeepavali, Miss Deepavali and Mr and Mrs Deepavali titles.
According to its organising committee member, A. Jayasree, 10 spotters among the crowd will photograph those arriving for the event to spot the finalists.
“They will be judged based on appearance, dressing and how they carry themselves,” she said.
However, those who wish to participate in the contest are advised to come in earlier for the photo-shoot session.
Winners will take home hampers and goodie bags worth RM500 each.
“Deepavali Nite 2009 is aimed at giving local Indian artistes a chance to perform and raise funds to help the needy,” she said.
Tickets are priced from RM30 to RM150 and can be bought at Gem restaurants in Jalan Gasing and Jalan Brickfields.
