THE 19 Miss World Malaysia 2009 finalists were treated to a Zumba aerobic class at Celebrity Fitness at Sunway Pyramid when they arrived for their personal training session recently.
“This exercise strengthens and tones the body as well as gets one’s heart rate up, increases metabolism and sculpts the body via sassy dance moves which I’m sure the girls will appreciate as they will feel healthier and more confident,” Celebrity Fitness senior marketing and promotion manager Evelyn Low said.
Zumba, a new aerobic exercise that incorporates Latin dance moves, is fast becoming a worldwide craze and it is exclusive only to Celebrity Fitness.
This is the third year the club has been the pageant’s “Official Fitness Club”.
Twenty-four-year-old finalist Tiong Sue Lynn, who is a writer, blogger and columnist, said the class was fun.
“It was a great workout and I can feel my muscles protesting as they were stretched to the limits. Hopefully it’ll help me get toned for the pageant and especially for the swimwear segments,” Tiong said.
She added that she was excited for the upcoming pageant and was happy that a lot of her friends would be attending it.
Crystel Eve Majinbon, 21, a student who hails from Sabah, found the class hard at first but loosened up and eventually had fun as well.
“The journey I have taken throughout the pageant is one of self improvement and it has made me more confident than ever,” Crystel said, adding that she did freelance modelling.
Undergraduate journalism major Leong Kuan May or better known as Kyanmay said she had no regrets whatsoever about the pageant.
“I feel that as long as I’ve tried my best, whatever the outcome may be, I will not have any regrets,” Kyanmay said.
