THIRUSELVAM Arumugam, 37, never thought he would be going on a second honeymoon anytime soon, much less a 10-day trip to Rome, Italy.
The Puchong resident, who emerged the Sunway Pyramid Grand Lucky Pick contest winner, won a pair of flight tickets sponsored by Malaysia Airlines.
Thiruselvam said the win was a lucky break as it was the first time he had ever won anything.
“I was waiting for my wife at the concierge counter at Sunway Pyramid when the counter attendant encouraged me to take part in the contest. Just to be polite, I filled in the form, attached my purchase receipt and submitted it, never expecting to win.
“This trip will be a second honeymoon for my wife and me,” said the pleasantly surprised Thiruselvam, who received the mock air tickets from Sunway Pyramid chief operating officer Kevin Tan and Malaysia Airlines marketing (Malaysia & Asean Region) head David Raj in Petaling Jaya recently.
Thirulselvam, who is PPC International executive director, will be visiting St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City and the Colosseum, among other places.
The contest was held from July 4 to Aug 31 in conjunction with the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2009. It was part of the mall’s own mega sale-themed campaign, “Sunway Pyramid Streets of the World Mega Sale”.
Shoppers who spent RM200 and above were entitled to take part in the contest, which was divided into two tiers – the weekly Lucky Pick and the Grand Lucky Pick.
The weekly Lucky Pick offered flight tickets to Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Penang, while the Grand Lucky Pick offered two flight tickets to Rome.
