A TOTAL of 60 students were each presented with a Certificate of Photography after a three-month training held at the AMP Photography Academy in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang.
The training especially held for Indian youths was fully sponsored by the Human Resources Ministry.
MIC central working committee member Madhu Marimuthu, who mooted the idea of setting up the photography academy, was present to greet the students.
Madhu said he hoped the students would continue to develop their skills in photography and work towards getting recognition in the industry.
“The Government is concerned about the well-being of the Indian community.
“MIC is working closely with the Government to develop programmes such as this to educate and strengthen the Indian community,’’ said Madhu.
AMP Photography Academy managing director Anantha Mohan said that during the training, the students would receive RM500 a month, a certificate and a place to stay during the duration of the training.
“We will help to look for jobs for those who have completed the training.
“The response has been overwhelming whereby out of 90 who applied we could only accept 60,” he said.
