IN just 15 years, TMC Life Sciences has moved from being a fertility clinic in Damansara Utama to a flagship hospital, the Tropicana Medical Centre recently.
“We are proud to be standing in this magnificent building, a realisation of a dream, the fruition of hope into reality and which is now fully equipped to serve the healthcare needs of the people,” said TMC Life Sciences Berhad chairman Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Khalid Abdul Kadir at the launch.
Khalid said the hospital had invested about RM45mil on buying the latest equipment such as the Non-Invasive Vascular Screening System (Vasera), the Digital mammography with Computerised Aided Detection (CAD) system and the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) in order to adequately support the specialist medical disciplines.
“We are not contented to be a hospital offering just good services but aim to set the benchmark in the healthcare industry,
“Therefore we have sought to differentiate ourselves by focusing on providing tertiary healthcare disciplines in line with patients’ demand for highly specialised and niche medical services,” said Khalid.
The eight-storey hospital in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, is equipped with 180 beds and has facilities such as the Critical Care Units, operating theatres, day surgery units, delivery suite and 24-hour accident and emergency department.
The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah officiated at the launch and spent an hour visiting the different areas of the hospital.
