PETALING JAYA: The tabling of Budget 2010 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will be broadcast live over television at 4pm today.
Information on the budget will also be available on the Finance Ministry websites, www.treasury.gov.my and www.treasury.gov.my/bajet2010-rss.xml.
Those using mobile web devices can also access the site through www.treasury.gov.my/bajet- mobile.
Najib’s speech will also be made available for download on the websites of the ministry’s various agencies such as Customs Depart- ment (www.customs.gov.my), Bank Negara (www.bnm.gov.my), Securities Commission (www.sc.com.my) and the Inland Revenue Board (www.hasil.gov.my).
The IRB will hold a special hotline following the Prime Minister’s tabling of the budget from 7pm to 10pm today.
The public can call the hotline at its eight available numbers: 03-6201 3037, 03-6201 3046, 03-6201 3048, 03-6201 3052, 03-6201 3054, 03-6201 3058, 03-6201 3059 and 03-6201 3061.
They can also contact the hotline set up by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) together with the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) tomorrow from 9am to noon.
The hotline at 03-2274 5055 will be conducted by a panel of tax consultants from major accounting firms.
It is set up to provide a convenient channel for the public to seek advise from tax experts on any implications from changes in the income tax law.
