Six illegal carwash centres raided

THE Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) is coming down hard on unlicensed carwash operators.

Other than carrying out their business at public areas, these operators also tend to employ illegal foreigners.

Last Thursday, a team comprising 29 officers from the enforcement department and 12 officers from the Immigration Department raided six carwash centres in Seri Kembangan.

A total of 20 immigrants with no proper documentation were taken to the Immigration Department office in Putrajaya for further action.

During the September fullboard meeting, council president Datuk Adnan Md Ikshan told reporters that if the carwash operators wished to claim their items, they would have to take an oath never to operate their businesses illegally again.

The enforcement department also raided a cybercafe at Angsana Flats in USJ 1 Wednesday night.

Led by Adnan and assistant enforcement officer Ainol Salnee Salim, the team took away 40 computers that were used for gambling.

The outlet, which was raided for the third time, was also sealed for operating without a permit.
