PANASONIC Malaysia took the initiative to educate the public on its eco-ideas through its “Power of Innovation” exhibition held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre over the weekend.
This year, the brand incorporated the Mottainai concept, an initiative aimed at teaching and guiding the public to use resources the proper way through the 3Rs — Reuse, Reduce and Recycle.
Mottainai is a Japanese word which refers to a situation when something of value was wasted or used without careful consideration or a sense of regret concerning waste when the object or resource is not properly used.
“We hope we can effectively communicate and share this concept with the public through the many channels that we have created such as our web portal, CSR activities, advertising campaigns and exhibitions,” said Panasonic Malaysia managing director Tony Endoh at the launch of the three-day exhibition which ended on Oct 4.
Endoh said with the Mottainai concept, Panasonic would offer creative solutions for consumers with stylish and environment-friendly products supported by technological excellence to fit one’s everyday lifestyle.
At the exhibition, eight new products; Big Capacity Inverter Refrigerator, Top Load Inverter washing machine, Bidet, Evolta Battery, Spiral Light Capsule, Alkaline Ionizer, Dish Dryer and Air Purifiers were introduced to the public.
Visitors were taken through an exciting journey through six dedicated areas starting from the Mottainai World, Eco Ideas Experience to Home Appliances, Audio Visual, Digital Imaging, Business Systems Solutions exhibits.
Celebrity chef Amy Beh was also on site preparing dishes using Panasonic’s electrical appliances while those who loved to pamper themselves thronged the Powder Room for a complimentary Nanocare mini-facial and make-up service.
Besides that the public also had the chance to take part in various games and Mottainai interactive activities winning Mottainai merchandise such as t-shirts, jumbo clips, handy fans and eco-bags.
