MODEL, actor, singer and entrepreneur Alan Yun is always striving towards new challenges that will give him a sense of fulfilment.
He had always wanted to join the entertainment industry since young watched television personalities and thought that he could do all that as well.
“My mother told me that I used to impersonate Michael Jackson a lot when I was as as young as four,” Yun said, adding that he first modelled in an advertisement when he was 15 years old.
The 31-year-old believes that there is plenty of room for growth in the local modelling industry but for now the market is still too small and there is no assurance of a stable income from it.
“I’m now focused on my career as an entrepreneur and working towards achieving financial independence that I believe I can gain as long as I stay focused and manage my time well,” Yun said.
He got to work with the late Yasmin Ahmad on two occasions.
The first was during a Rejoice television commercial as well as on the movie Gubra where he played the lead actor role.
Ten years ago, Yun released a Mandarin album and the English track on the album was written by Yasmin.
Yun was raised by a single mother and because the age gap between him and his two elder brothers was very wide, a lot of his childhood memories involved her.
“To avoid me feeling lonely, she’d make me do a lot of things to occupy my time such as choir and taking up piano classes. She has been through thick and thin with me and worked hard to raise me,” he said.
