ONE would least expect to play interactive video games at a dance club but that is exactly what guests at the Envy Club would find.
“There is a Nintendo Wii set up in the club and our guests are welcome to play the games. We have something for everyone,” said operation manager Rudy Irwan.
The club and bar located in the upmarket SohoKL in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, has a bar with a seating area next to it, in front of the deejay console and live band stage.
For a more relaxed and casual atmosphere, there is also an alfresco section.
The VIP lounge located on the upper level of the club is furnished with cosy red sofas and has a dance floor overlooking the deejay console and bar area.
Six-piece band Hypnorush performs at the club from 8.30am to 12.45am from Monday to Wednesday and from 9pm to 11pm on Thursday and Friday.
Drummer Pae said they performed anything from 70s hit songs to current Top 40 selections.
“It depends on what the audience wants. There are different requests from the earlier crowd compared with those who come in later in the night,” he said.
Rudy said there was also a deejay spinning at the console between the sets by the live band.
“We have guest deejays at the club on Saturdays and we plan to bring in international deejays in future,” he said, adding that the club also attempts to draw in the crowd by having a different theme each night.
Happy hour is from 5pm to 10pm and Thursday is Ladies Night, where the ladies get a free flow of house drinks until 1.30am.
“We also organise games for our customers and there is wine giveaways for the winners,” said Rudy.
For those who prefer a more private atmosphere, there is a wine and cigar lounge next to the VIP lounge upstairs.
With plush leather seats you can sink into, the ambience inside the enclosed lounge is perfect for a relaxed night out, with a glass of wine or two.
