KOTA BARU: A woman who was among the three people burnt to death in a car accident at the 2nd kilometre of the Kota Baru-Kuala Krai road in Bunut Payung here yesterday was an actress.
Wan Nurdiyana Kamrul Zaman, 22, had acted in the film Black Maria and dramas like Rumah Itu Duniaku, Sumaiyyah, Raya Dengan Tok, Selamat Tinggal Noni, Ayah Kami and the latest, Matahari.
Her father, Mohd Kamarul Zaman Mohd Nor, 44, said Wan Nurdiyana, the eldest of four siblings, was on leave for the Aidilfitri celebration while waiting for a new acting offer.
“During the fasting month, she wanted to wear a scarf and a week before the crash, she read the Quran. Those were signs that she was leaving us for good,” he said at Wan Nurdiyana’s grandparents’ home in Kampung Chempaka here yesterday.
Wan Nurdiyana was buried at the Mata Pasir Muslim cemetery in Kampung Chempaka.
She leaves behind a four-year old daughter, Dayang Fatihah Amanda, from her marriage to Nataza Muhamad, a vocalist from the group The Times. The couple divorced two years ago.
Mohd Kamarul Zaman said Wan Nurdiyana’s brother, Wan Ikmal Hisham, was also killed in an accident a year ago. “In another two days (tomorrow), it will be exactly a year that my son was killed in Gua Musang.”
Besides Wan Nurdiyana, the other two killed in Sunday’s crash were American citizen Gonzalez Christopher, 30, an oil rig worker in Terengganu and Tengku Shamsu Tuan Ibrahim, 25, from Tanah Merah.
The driver of the Proton Persona they were travelling in, Tengku Ahmad Nazim Tengku Azizan, 30, sustained serious injuries and had been admitted to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital.
