No more guesswork for your room's colour

What say you on the issue below?

FOR the first time ever, homeowners, architects, interior decorators and painters can see what a newly-painted living or working environment would look like, thanks to a free-of-charge online software developed by Jotun A/S Norway.

Called ColourAdvisor, the tool was unveiled at its local plant recently by Jotun (M) Sdn Bhd managing director and regional director for Southeast Asia Peder Bohlin,

“All a person has to do is take a picture of the room, upload it to the ColourAdvisor software at www.jotun.com/ap and change the wall colours from there to see what the room would look like once it is repainted. The whole process just takes a few minutes,” said Bohlin.

He added that as a result, customers could enjoy a more realistic experience through superior colour rendering, extended interactivity and accessibility to more colours, thereby enabling them to make better planning and painting decisions.

“Best of all, ColourAdvisor removes guesswork and the expensive trial and error method which is common when a person does not like the paint colour he has applied to a room,” Bohlin said.

“It will help a person identify a colour that suits his personality and taste, or the desired mood of a particular room. He or she can also create a lot of thematic colours to help with colour matching,” he added.

The ColourAdvisor is available at Jotun’s 500 Multicolour centres nationwide.

Jotun had also launched Jotashield Extreme, a durable paint for harsh tropical climates which is aimed at the housing and commercial sectors.

It took five years to develop Jotashield Extreme and it offers long-term protection – eight-years – due to its two times heat reflective technology and two times ultra violet protected colour pigment technology.
