New range of Malaysian-style coffee launched

What say you on the issue below?

Beverage brand Nescafé launched a selection of popular Malaysian-style coffee under the Nescafé Menu range recently at the new Nestlé (Malaysia) Bhd office at Menara Surian in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

Malaysians can now enjoy their favourite cup of local coffee at home, in the office, or anywhere at any time with anyone, with Nescafe’s new range of products.

The Nescafé Menu selection offers three choices — Nescafé Menu Tarik, Nescafé Menu Ipoh White Coffee and Nescafé Menu Neslo.

Nestlé Products Sdn Bhd Coffee & Beverages (Malaysia/Singapore) executive director Don Howat noted that Nestlé was a global company that understood local needs, which was why the Nescafé Menu was launched for the Malaysian market.

“We incorporated the use of the latest technology in creating the three products,” he said.

“Nescafé Menu Tarik’s 3-in-1 format allows you whip up a foamy cup just by adding hot water.

“The Nescafé Menu Neslo features a blend of Nescafé coffee and chocolate malt, while Nescafé Menu Ipoh White Coffee offers one the satisfaction of enjoying the smooth and aromatic drink.”

On how Nestlé chose to focus on the three items now featured in Nescafé Menu, Howat said: “Our team literally sat in the coffee shops and asked the owners what the bestsellers were.

“We then quantified which beverages were the best and came up with this coffee shop range.”

According to him, Nescafé has 70% of the Malaysian market share with its soluble coffee ranges, which include Nescafé 3-in-1, Nescafé Classic, Nescafé Premium and Nescafé Body Partner.

“We’re hoping to double our share of the speciality coffee market by next year with the launch of our latest products,” Howat said.

“We’ve also had enquiries from some Asian markets who are interested in the Nescafé Menu products.”

The new Nescafé Menu range is available at all leading supermarkets and hypermarkets in 15-pack bags at the recommended retail prices of RM12.90.
