KUANTAN: A 11-year-old girl and her foster parents were among 10 suspects arrested by police during a sting operation statewide against traffickers which targeted Felda settlements.
Pahang narcotics department chief Supt Yap Toon Khuan said the girl was later released.

Supt Yap said six of the suspects, including another couple, were detained in their car on Wednesday at 3.15pm at KM22 Jalan Jerengau-Jabor near Sungai Ular here.
”The suspects resisted arrest, resulting in one of them getting injured during the struggle.
“Police found 150 packets believed to be heroin, weighing 285gm and worth RM28,500 in their possesion.
“The suspects had been remanded and faced a charge under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty, upon conviction,” he said yesterday.
Supt Yap said in a follow-up operation, police raided the suspects’ house in Jalan Bukit Ubi and seized nine more packets of heroin, weighing 16gm.
He said urine tests conducted on the three male suspects showed they were positive for drug crystal meth (syabu).
”Investigations also revealed that one of them had just been released from detention for a drug related case.
“We believed the suspects had been active over the last three months and using the girl as a camouflage during their distribution rounds in the Felda settlements,” he said.
Supt Yap said his officers in Jerantut also detained a woman, aged 38, who used her eatery outlet in Jalan Kuala Tembeling, Kampung Besul, as a front to sell psychotropic pills.
Police seized 512 pills worth RM20,400 in the black market and cash RM3,900.
Supt Yap said police also picked up two traffickers, aged 28 and 35, in Felda Keratong, Rompin, and seized from them 14 packets of heroin, weighing 23gm.
