Foreigners give local men the thumbs up

What say you on the issue below?

MALACCA: Several Latin American girls who attended the 7th World Junior and Cadet Karate Championships at the Melaka International Trade Centre here recently bid farewell to Malacca, but not before complementing Malaysian men for their excellent physiques and warm smiles.

The group of young girls from Brazil and Argentina described local men as the “sexiest creatures” in the World.

“Their accents are adorable and they are good looking overall,” said Argentinian Bella Rose Pajmit, 16, who hails from a tourist town of Esquel.

Pajmit, a karate fan had accompanied her team to lend moral support during the championship that ended on Oct 16.

Colourfully garbed: Lasses from Malaysia and Slovakia parading in typical local ethnic costumes.

“Malaysian men are so irresistible, most of my friends who were down here for the first time had the same sentiment over the local guys,” she said.

Pajmit, a college student, said she would definitely be making another trip here to get acquainted with more male friends from Malaysia.

Brazilian karate coach Simone Mota, 19, said her all-female team literally fell in love with Malaysian food, culture and its men.

“They are modest and friendly. I guess these guys are our choice, we want to come back here to spend more time getting to know the local lads,” she said.

It was also Mota and her team’s first visit to Malaysia and the experience was a memorable one.

“Malaysians are not cheeky, we walked around Malacca but only a handful took a second look at us, others just nodded in a friendly manner,” she said.

She said the Brazilian contingent comprised 23 people, including athletes and officials. Mota was in charge of the female athletes from her country.

Sauma Nathalia, 15, who has been in the Brazil national team for three years, praised Malaysian men for their friendly dispositions.

“The are warm and respect women and I was pleased when one Malaysian lad gave me first-aid treatment when I accidentally fell while trying to get into the crowded spectator stand on the second day of the championship.

“He never asked me for my handphone number or attempted to ask me out although I repeatedly thanked him for helping me and I am really impressed,” she said.

Nathlia said that Malaysian men might not be the most handsome, but they are charming, kind and hlepful.

“They are cool dudes and don’t mind settling down for a Malaysian guy once I have completed my studies,” she added.

The dual championships held here also saw a record number of female participants with 478, surpassing the number recorded during previous championships. Besides the Latin American countries, Belarus, Belgium, Australia, Colombia, China, the US, Kuwait, South Korea, India, Italy, Pakistan, Jordan, Greece, Iceland, the UK and Fiji also participated.
