MIZI Bistro has introduced its hearty and scrumptious brand of Western cuisine to Tesco Tanjung Pinang in Tanjung Tokong with the opening of its second outlet four months ago.
Shoppers can look forward to good food in a cosy ambience before and after their shopping as the bistro is open from 9.30am to 10.30pm daily.
Breakfast is served until 11am with a variety of selections such as scrambled eggs, fluffy omelette and mushroom on toast.
Just like its sister outlet in New World Park, the smashing interpretations here are not only impressive but also come in portions that will to leave a ‘big eater’ completely delighted and satiated.
Excellent food aside, another winning criterion is the reasonable pricing especially the value for money set meal priced at only RM25 nett. It consists of a drink, soup, main course (select from the menu) and free flow of ice cream.
Diners must, however pay an additional RM6 based on the a la carte price for selections from the Meat and Chef’s Specialties sections as well as for the smoked salmon.
The signature mushroom soup with its refined flavour and chunky mushroom bits is a definite must try.
Popular choices comprise The Great Caesar Salad, fillet steak and salmon, marinated lamb chop ‘Provencale’ (broiled to perfection with a rosemary and garlic flavoured sauce) and fish fillet ‘Monte Carlo’ (panfried fish topped with onions, tomato, mushroom and capers in a herbal butter sauce).
Made up of crispy lettuce hearts tossed with the classic creamy Caesar dressing with tuna flakes, Cajun chicken breast and smoked Norwegian salmon, the salad can easily feed up to four people.
Pan-seared with a delicate mushroom sauce and pistachio basil butter, the fillet steak and salmon is simply delicious while the lamb chop is sprinkled with baked mixed herbs and breadcrumbs for that added fragrant edge.
Other recommendations include Surf & Turf (grilled chicken breast and tiger prawn masked with rosemary jus and garlic butter), seared Chilean salmon (lightly seared and set on a bed of buttery garlic flavoured sauteed lettuce with a grain mustard sauce) and Chief Sitting Bull (whole spring chicken stuffed with a mix of rice and mushroom, roasted with butter and served with chasseur sauce).
The menu also includes burgers, sandwiches, local favourites like Hailam fried mee, Cantonese fried rice and mee goreng mamak style, vegetarian and light bites such as Scotch Woodstock (scrambled egg with smoked salmon) and Shepherd’s Pie.
Mizi Bistro is certainly food for thought with its delectable offerings specially created for discerning taste buds.
