THIS weekend, you can look forward to some skincare shopping at Mid Valley Megamall. Sa Sa, a cosmetics retailing group in Asia, brings you the first largest Sa Sa Cosmeceutical Fair 2011.
The fair, which ends tomorrow, is being held at the Concourse Level at the North Court of the mall. It features 14 international cosmeceutical brands from the United States, Switzerland, Taiwan, and South Korea.
The five-day event offers consumers over 150 types of cosmeceutical products, which is targeted to solve all skin problems effectively.
The 14 participating brands are Dr Wu and Neogence (Taiwan), BRTC, Dr. G, Dr. Jart+ and Dr Young (South Korea), Good Skin Labs, Skin Peptoxyl, B. Liv, Stnvectin and Hylexin (US), Eternus D (Switzerland), Skin Doctor (Australia) and Talika (France).
The four categories on skincare product function at the fair comprise Hydrating, Anti-Aging, Whitening and Pore Minimising.
“Cosmeceutical” is the new definition in skincare, representing the marriage between cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
Cosmeceuticals are cosmetic products with biologically active ingredients proven to have medical benefits.
Like cosmetics, cosmeceuticals are topically applied, but they contain ingredients that influence the biological function of the skin.
“Consumers are constantly looking for ways to maintain a youthful appearance. As such, cosmeceuticals are considered acceptable skincare treatments nowadays and the consumer base is diverse,” said Sa Sa marketing manager Rachel Ong.
“It is also believed that the effects of cosmeceuticals promote direct nourishment to our skin.”
As the top skincare brand in Taiwan, Neogence will offer its latest Hyaluronic Acid DNS Repairing Series skincare range aimed at slowing down skin aging and maintaining skin elasticity.
“The active ingredient in this range is Hyaluronic Acid which can help our skin retain water. Environmental factors can drain moisture from our skin. As such, Hyaluronic Acid DNS Repairing Series skincare range contains a high percentage of the essence to help moisturise our skin,” said Neogence overseas sales junior manager Redd Cheng.
With the hot and wet weather in Malaysia, Cheng said the Neogence range of products would be beneficial to Malaysians.
“Neogence Hydrating series of products is suitable for Malaysian skin to help combat dryness and skin aging,” he said.
Aside from that, Dr Jart+, a leading brand of skincare in South Korea, offers its Pore Medic Line range for those who want to minimise pores. Its Pore Medic Peeling Gel, which has no pigment and does not irritate skin, effectively removes dead skin cells with its active ingredient, cellulose.
“Unlike normal facial scrubs which contains microbeads, our Pore Medic Peeling Gel has ingredients like extracts of pumpkin, apple and lemon to control pores and dead cells and will leave skin soft and moist,” said HAVE&BE Co Ltd international business division manager John Kim.
At the fair, visitors can get a free skin analysis and facial experience zone.
Sa Sa beauty consultants will suggest the most suitable product based on the result of the skin analysis.
Customers can also enjoy special promotions from the participating brands where each brand offers their special free gift upon purchase, which is worth RM50 each.
Sa Sa will also offer RM20 off on any purchase above RM100 during the roadshow.
A limited edition of Sa Sa My Beauty Secret 2012 diary will also be given away for free upon purchase above RM200 in a single receipt.
Customers with purchases above RM180 stand a chance to bring home an iPad2 (total three units) as well.
