DESPITE having to miss the Deepavali celebrations this year, housewife J. Shanthi feels it is all worth it as she welcomes the arrival of her baby boy.
The infant, who has yet to be named, weighed at 2.97kg and was born at 2.20am at the Seberang Jaya Hospital.
“It is the best Deepavali gift ever,” said Shanthi who also has a three-year old son, B. Yugenthiran.

Her husband, factory worker M. Babu said he was thankful to have a baby born on such an auspicious day.
“I am grateful to God for the safety of my wife and child,” said the 30-year-old father.
More than 18 babies were born in various hospitals in the state as at 4pm yesterday.
