KUCHING: Firemen had to be called to free a toddler’s foot which got stuck in a bathroom drainpipe when her mother was about to give her a bath.
Aishah Ramlee, 23, of Lorong Cahaya Aman, Taman Puteri in Petrajaya said she had just brought Dayang Qasseh Arriesya Abg Syamsuri, two, into the bathroom when the plastic cover of the drainpipe gave way on Friday.
The hapless toddler’s left foot somehow slipped inside, prompting Aishah to call Sarawak General Hospital at about 6.23pm.
Firemen from Petra Jaya were sent to the house followed by an ambulance. It was only at around 9.33pm that the rescuers were able to free Dayang’s leg. Amazingly, she sustained only minor bruises which the paramedics bandaged.
Plucky Dayang also did not even cry throughout the whole ordeal.
