A RESTAURANT owner from Bangsar won the grand prize of RM50,000 at the Home Decoration Exhibition (Homedec) 2011 held earlier this year.

Low Yee Teng, 31, said she had been visiting the exhibition every year.

“I have been sourcing for items for my new home which is undergoing renovation. With this money I will buy decorative items for my garden,’’ she said.

Tan Sze Wei, 32, Hazila Abdul Rahman, 37, and Azka Sidi, 46, won RM10,000 each. The winners had visited the Homedec held in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Baru from April to July.

The winners received their prizes at a ceremony held in conjunction with the opening of Homedec Part 1 (Oct 20-23) and Part 2 (Oct 27-30) at the KL Convention Centre.

Homedec organiser C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd president Vincent Lim said the cash reward was an added bonus for visitors to create their dream home.

“The money will be useful when decorating their house,’’ said Lim.

Homedec Part 1 features permanent and main fixtures for the home with a special edition on Kitchen Design with more than 50 exhibitors showcasing the latest ideas and trends of the kitchen, while Part 2 will focus on decorations.

Visitors who spend a minimum of RM100 in a single receipt in either Part 1 or Part 2 will stand a chance to win prizes in the Homedec contest.

One lucky winner will walk away with the grand prize of RM30,000 in vouchers sponsored by Teka Kuchentechnik (M) Sdn Bhd.

To win the RM50,000 cash bonus, all you need to do is accumulate a minimum of RM2,000 of purchases in combined receipts from Part 1 and Part 2 and take part in the contest.
