Local favourites to be made tourist draw

What say you on the issue below?

SELECTED factories producing delicacies originating from Perak will be turned into tourist attractions soon, said State Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Hamidah Osman.

She said tourism department officers would visit and evaluate several companies who were keen to take part, before making a decision.

Popular: The tiger-head brand of heong peah or fragrant biscuits in Hokkien. The biscuits originated from Teluk Intan, Perak.

She singled out Ipoh white coffee and heong peah (traditional biscuits) as examples of made-in-Perak products.

Hamidah said people were interested to know their production process, apart from savouring the delicacies.

Perak is known as a food haven to local and foreign tourists alike and many of its products have also penetrated markets overseas.
