Koh: Government is fulfilling the rakyat’s wish for change

What say you on the issue below?

THE Government is aware of the rakyat’s wish for changes and will work towards that direction to take the nation to greater heights, says Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon.

He said the Government’s efforts were reflected in Malaysia’s ranking by the World Bank, moving up from 24th to the 18th place in the world, while it was listed among the Top 20 in the Global Peace Index.

He said this in his speech during the launch of the Muhibbah Youth Dinner organised by the District Youth Council and the State Youth Council at Cititel Hotel, Penang, on Friday.

Dr Koh also reminded those who attended the event that only nine years remained to 2020 and he called for a more aggressive approach in reaching the country’s aspirations economically and socially.

He stressed the importance of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s approach through the concept of ‘Perpaduan dalam Kebelbagaian’ (Unity in Diversity) in bringing the country and the rakyat together as one.

“Many developed countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom are already using our Prime Minister’s concepts of ‘inclusiveness’ and ‘moderation’ to achieve their goals.

“They too, like us, realise the importance of including the rakyat in the decision-making process,” he said.
