New Lumix GX1 renders high-quality images

THE newest compact lifestyle camera, the Lumix GX1, is bound to thrill amateur photographers with breathtakingly high quality images that bring new and exciting discoveries with almost every shot.

Panasonic Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director Jeff W.L. Lee said the Lumix G micro system mirrorless interchangeable lens camera was a strategy to strengthen the position in this segment and create a new photo culture for microsystem cameras to further capture the market in the coming year.

“Our wide range of G-series cameras is to fulfil the demand for small cameras with big features comparable to DSLR functions and picture quality. Our launch of the GX1 sees our upgrading of the G series especially for photo enthusiasts,” he said.

He added that demand for microsystem cameras had increased drastically especially in Japan and Asian markets.

“The current market for these cameras is now over 40% and we expect this trend will spread globally.

“In Malaysia, the microsystem-camera market is growing encouragingly and currently it is attracting a ratio of one microsystem-camera user to nine DSLR users, and microsystem-camera growth is now reaching 400% compared to last year,” said Lee.

Panasonic Malaysia marketing director Harry Sasaki said the firm expected the Lumix GX1 to please a lot of photo enthusiasts who had been eager for a technology upgrade comparable to the Lumix DMC-GF1, which continues to be a very popular digital camera with dedicated followers who appreciate the compact size and high-quality photos.
