Castrol ends its ‘Hunt for the Strongest’ campaign

What say you on the issue below?

CASTROL recently wrapped up its “Hunt for the Strongest” challenge which was a part of their “Experience the Strongest” campaign.

The campaign finale, which was held at Sunway Giza, included the “Hunt for the Strongest” prize-giving and also a mini-hunt for the members of the media present, giving them a chance to win a Tag Heuer Kimi Raikkonen men’s wrist watch.

The “Experience the Strongest” campaign began in October, inspired by Castrol’s strongest and most advanced performance oil yet, Castrol Edge, engineered with Titanium Fluid Strength Technology.

This technology was designed to continuously respond and adapt to an engine’s every need even under severe pressure, minimising metal-to-metal contact and maximising engine performance.

Castrol Edge has proven to be up to 40% stronger and lasts 35% longer than a leading competitor.

Castrol Malaysia and Singapore marketing director Mark Ng said the “Experience the Strongest” campaign was created to find confident Malaysians to take on the challenge to be the strongest and to excel under pressure. In response, the Castrol Malaysia Facebook page gained 35,000 fans in seven weeks.

It consisted of two stages. The first was called “Strength to Unlock”. Participants were required to recruit a team on Castrol Malaysia’s Facebook page to unlock prizes collectively.

Winning groups won prizes like group karaoke vouchers, fitness centre memberships and paintball packages.

The second stage was the “Hunt for the Strongest” mobile game. This allowed participants with smartphones to have an Augmented Reality experience via a mulitiplayer mobile application. Participants had to find, track and collect scattered “Titanium Fluid Strength Technology elements” to win.

The “Strongest” participant and grand prize winner Ng Kok Hiong, a timber company manager won an all-expense paid trip to Poland to watch the Euro 2012 live in June next year.

He said: “This is my lifelong dream come true.”

Besides that, 19 other winners also took home other prizes such as a Sony Bravia 40” LED TV with a Blu-ray Disc Home Theatre System, iPad 2, Microsoft Xbox Kinects, a Macbook Air and Castrol Edge.
