Shopping dream come true for 27 children

What say you on the issue below?

TWENTY-SEVEN children from Rumah Juara scurried excitedly across the shopping aisles in Metrojaya at Mid Valley Megamall recently, surveying the items on display.

It was a day they would remember for some time yet.

The children were there as guests of F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd which played Santa for the day to treat them to some Christmas gifts.

Armed with a budget of RM200 each, the children were spoilt for choice over the variety of goods available at the store from clothes, shoes, toys and school supplies.

Heroes all round!: The children try their hand at various actions while playing the ‘Super Hero’ game.

Santa’s helpers from F&N and Metrojaya assisted the children, aged between four and 18, in picking out their own Christmas gifts.

Over an hour later, they returned with their stash, famished after all the hard work to find a scrumptious lunch complete with all the Christmas trimmings awaiting them.

After lunch, there were a series of fun activities including quizzes and games such as “Super Hero” which required the children to remember various super hero actions and “Strike a Pose” which got everyone bursting in laughter.

“This is always a special time of the year for me but F&N has made this Christmas more memorable for us as we have never been on a shopping trip like this,” said 17-year-old Sharona.

Victor, 10, was excited to be able to get himself something he had long desired — a watch.

Five-year-old Beanica displayed poise beyond her years as she calmly picked out a Barbie T-shirt. “I love Barbie dolls and I wanted this T-shirt as soon as I saw it.”

F&N Beverages’ corporate affairs manager Cariessa Goh said: “It is incumbent on all of us, corporate citizens or individuals, to do our bit for the less fortunate especially during festive seasons when they are often sidelined.
