JOHOR BARU: A flash mob in conjunction with the Christmas was held at Johor Baru City Square here attracted many people with the youngest participant of 12 years of age and the oldest is 80 above.

The flash mob organised and lead by the Calvary Church and Calvary home had their second flash mob this year in conjunction with Christmas.

Pastor Wong Et Yong said that they did not had a chance to carry out their plan of having the flash mob.

“However we were able to have it at City Square this year,” he said adding that their first flash mob was held at the Jusco Tebrau City on Dec 17 this year.

“The flash mob had attracted people of different races and of different ages with the youngest participant 12 years old and the oldest is 80 above.

“Later we continued with some Christmas carols but only singing the ‘Joy to the World’ in rap version,” he said.

Pastor Wong added that they came up with these ideas to encourage the shoppers to join us in it.

“Not many will be interested in listening to Christmas carols so that’s why we have decided to come up with new ways to attract and also interact with people.

“Many shoppers were interested and took part in the activity,” he said adding that they were all in casual wear.

Pastor Wong also said that they will be organising such events at KSL City Mall on Dec 23 and also at Sutera Mall here on Christmas Eve.

“Those interested can join us in the flash mob here,” he said hoping that many people would join in the flash mob and encourage them.

Around 150 members from the church and home took part in the event.
