Extending a helping hand to the less fortunate

What say you on the issue below?

AS THE year draws to a close, it is a fitting time to reflect on one’s blessings and share with the less fortunate. With this in mind, the team from the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre paid a visit to Rumah Titian Kaseh to lend a helping hand.

Organised by the convention centre’s human resource department, the visit entailed a gotong-royong to help clean up the home’s surrounding area by pulling out weeds from the garden, scrubbing and washing the car porch and cleaning the dining and living areas.

Sharing and caring: The team posing with the children of Rumah Titian Kaseh.

The team brought gifts of rice, clothes, two delicious cakes and a cash contribution of RM2,000 from staff of the convention centre and Convex Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre general manager Datuk Peter Brokenshire said, “I am delighted our team has taken the time to reach out to the less privileged and to make a difference in their lives. These efforts are exemplary.”

Located in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Rumah Titian Kaseh has 85 residents, from children, single mothers and the elderly to the physically handicapped.
