THE Klang Executive Club (KEC), as part of its development programmes, will be organising the Racquets Carnival on Nov 1.

KEC hospitality division head Valerie Tee said the three racquet sports — tennis, squash and badminton — would be held on the day.

“The badminton competition will be for the Datuk Steven Tee challenge trophy and will be a team event. But the squash and tennis events will be individual events,’’ said Tee after a sponsorship presentation ceremony recently.

The squash competition will be for the Under-12 age group while the tennis has three categories — men, women and boys’ Under-15.

All together now: Members of the organising committee and representatives of sponsors at the launch of the Racquets Carnival.

Six teams — Royal Klang Club, Kota Permai Golf and Country Club, K. Club, Shah Alam Club, Sri Damansara Club and KEC — divided into two groups will be in action in the Datuk Steven Tee challenge trophy badminton championship.

The sponsors for the Racquets Carnival are Milo, 100Plus, Prince,. GAB and Beam Global Asia.

KEC sports and recreation manager T. Kanniappan said the carnival was a platform for their trainees in the development programme to gain exposure.

“We have invited juniors from other clubs in Klang for the tennis and squash championships.

“We hope our trainees will give a good account in the tennis and squash championships,’’ said Kanniappan.
