DAP’s Leong given a warning over outburst

What say you on the issue below?

THE DAP has issued a warning letter to Jalong assemblyman Leong Mee Meng over her recent outburst about being sidelined by the Perak leadership, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The decision was made by the five-man disciplinary committee, headed by Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai.

Tan said although Leong’s statement was not directed at any individual, she should not make baseless allegations that could taint the party’s image and create confusion among the public.

Leong was quoted as saying she did not object to the decision.

> China Press reported that local journalists staged a walkout in protest over the cold treatment they received at the wedding reception of Singapore’s MediaCorp stars Fann Wong and Christopher Lee in Malacca.

The newsmen claimed that they were denied entry into the wedding reception hall held at a hotel despite waiting for nearly two hours.

A staff member of the hotel’s public relations department said the hotel was merely following instructions of the host who said the wedding dinner was a “private function”.

The move, according to the daily, contradicted Lee’s earlier statement that he would take questions from journalists from both countries during the dinner.
