Brewing up a howlin’ good deal at Tony Roma

What say you on the issue below?

MEALS eaten at Tony Roma’s outlets until the end of October can be complemented with a couple of light dishes as well as two promotional festive drinks in view of the upcoming Halloween celebrations.

The first dish is the distinctively yellow-coloured Pipin’ Hot Pumpkin Soup that is made with fresh pumpkin and yellow onions and seasoned with white pepper and chicken stock.

Topped with bread cubes and parsley, the soup comes in a bowl or cup priced at RM9.90 and RM7.90 respectively, but ordered with any entree, it costs RM5.90 and RM3.90 respectively.

At the end of the meal, diners can opt for the Howlin’ Pumpkin Pie that is made with sweet pumpkin coated with sugar, cream, vanilla essence, cinnamon and ginger powder piled into a tart shell.

Be spooked: Ghouls, witches and many other scary creatures will be serving your meals and drinks from Oct 30 to Nov 1 in a spooky setting themed ‘Spooky a la Tony Roma’.

This dessert, which is topped with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce and is not too sweet, costs RM8.90.

For those who would like some alcohol to go with their meal, there is the option of having the Witches Brew during this promotional period.

Priced at RM25.90, the brew is a mixture of Skyy Vodka, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, pineapple and cranberry juice and comes with a few jelly worms dangling out of the glass for effect.

If alcohol is not your thing, there is the option of having the Vampire Kiss (RM12.90), which is a mocktail combining lemon, strawberry and Sprite.

All Tony Roma’s restaurants are operated by Revenue Valley Sdn Bhd via its subsidiary company Grandpolitan Sdn Bhd, which is the exclusive franchisee of the American restaurant chain in Malaysia.

Halloween brews: Enjoy a Vampire Kiss (left) or, perhaps, the Witches Brew (right) during the Halloween promotion.

The company’s chief marketing officer Jason Lim said the Halloween promotion was quite small because they still had the Thanksgiving and Christmas promotions coming up.

“All our four Tony Roma’s outlets will be fully decorated between Oct 30 and Nov 1 in line with the theme ‘Spooky a la Tony Roma’ and the wait staff will be dressed in spooky costumes,” Lim said.

He added that last year’s theme was a jungle-based one and the restaurant was packed during Halloween.

“Quite a lot of people are actually game to come to dinner all dressed up.

Diners who arrive to dine at the restaurants in their Halloween outfits will get a free Howlin’ Pumpkin Pie this year,” Lim added.
