KUALA LUMPUR: A website calling itself “Malaysia Against Corruption” is petitioning for Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat to stay on as MCA president.

“I want to be represented by politicians who are commited to eliminating corruption in government and society. I believe that Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat has proven his commitment to this objective and he is the right person to lead the MCA,” according to www.malaysiansagainstcorruption.com.

The website, backed by the Exporters Club, explained that Malaysians Against Corruption was initiated by people of all races who had become disillusioned by unscrupulous leaders.

“As ordinary Malaysians, we want our appointed politicians and public servants to understand that it (corruption) is no longer acceptable. We also need people in influence to take the initiative to change the system from the inside.”

The group, according to the website, was not supporting any political party.
