KUALA LUMPUR: The tradition of having open houses during festive seasons should carry on, said the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
“This is part of the uniqueness of our multi-racial society and further strengthens the spirit of 1Malaysia,” Rosmah said at the Malaysian Indian-Muslim Congress (Kimma) Hari Raya open house organised by the youth and women’s wing last night.
She also commended Kimma for their financial contributions given out during the function to those in need including single mothers, orphans, the poor and welfare homes.
On the Bagan Pinang by-election, Rosmah said she was pleased with the feedback from Kimma president Syed Ibrahim Kader that 99% of the Indian Muslim voters had vouched their support for Barisan Nasional.
Rosmah also witnessed the donation of a RM47,500 cheque from the Malaysian Muslim Money Changers Association to the Kuala Lumpur Foundation to Criminalise War for the Palestine Fund.
