More tuning in to Suria FM

Suria FM has increased its weekly audience by 21% in the past 12 months, the largest growth when compared to its main competitors.

According to the latest AC Nielsen Survey ratings published on Oct 20, the number of listeners tuning in to Malay radio stations in general has decreased by 2.5% in 2009 compared to 2008.

However, Suria FM has improved its market performance by showing a huge increase year on year.

The number of Suria FM listeners in the East Coast of Malaysia has grown by 38% while the number of listeners in the Northern region have increased by 19% compared to the results of Sweep 2 2008.

Suria FM’s exclusive listenership has also increased by the largest margin of 67% compared to 2008.

The latest AC Nielsen Survey results also confirm the monthly income group of Suria FM listeners to be between RM3,000 and RM4,000, a 41% increase compared to the last sweep.

The percentage of the station’s growth is also higher than its main competitors.

The number of urban listeners who tune in to Suria FM has also increased compared to the last sweep.

In addition, the latest survey also found that Suria FM listeners now spend more time listening to the station, a 7% improvement.

Suria FM chief operating officer Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin (pic) said he was very pleased with the results.

“Suria FM has increased its revenue growth by 35% as at September 2009 compared to the corresponding period last year.

“It’s been a very successful year for Suria FM with the introduction of 50 Minutes of Non- Stop Music every hour, 105-Minute Music Marathon to start your workday and all the exciting activities we have been doing on and off air,” he said.

Engku Emran thanked all the station’s existing listeners and clients for their continued support and hoped to welcome new listeners and clients to the Suria FM family.

“Keep listening for all the amazing things we have planned at Suria FM in 2010,” he added.
