Dancing do on Deepavali day

What say you on the issue below?

OVER 400 men and women turned the ballroom of the 3K Sports Complex in Subang Jaya into a dance hall in a line dance competition held on Deepavali day.

Event organiser Sam & Grace Dance Group from USJ 5 had also invited 20 children from Compassion Home to join in the fun of watching and dancing with the group.

Special guest at the function was Kelana Jaya MCA division chairman Ong Chong Swen, who was also roped in to help raise funds via sale of tickets.

“When the dance group shared with me their idea about this charity line dance, I also wanted to help,” said Ong.

Having fun: Ong (front row, second from left) dancing with the participants and the children from Compassion Home.

“I wish to take this opportunity to thank Sam & Grace, who have taken the initiative to learn and teach line dancing in Subang Jaya and USJ for many years.

“With their enthusiasm and determination, we find men and women of all ages are able to dance gracefully and beautifully,” she said.

In the competition, 10 teams were judged to be the best.

The champions were The Starlet, the first and second runner-ups World Dancers and True Line respectively. The remaining seven teams received consolation prizes.

A lucky draw was also held and 25 people took home prizes.
