What say you on the issue below?

PETRONAS played host to 100 underprivileged children from two primary schools in Shah Alam in a fun-filled programme at the Petronas Twin Towers in conjunction with Deepavali.

The children, ranging from six to 12-years-old, were from SJK (T) Ladang Emerald and SJK (C) Khe Beng located in the Bukit Kemuning district.

On hand to receive them was Petronas senior general manager of Group Technology Solutions Pramod Kumar Karunakaran.

Goodies to go: Pramod (centre) helping a child to put on her new school bag while other gifts are presented to her.

He presented pocket money and items such as school uniforms, school bags, shoes and stationery sets to each of the schoolchildren.

The children were also taken on a fun and exciting tour of Petrosains by a group of Petronas staff volunteers.

During the tour, the children took part in a series of interactive and educational activities on science and technology related to petroleum as well as daily life.

The children were also brought to level 42 of the Petronas Twin Towers for a Skybridge walk, before being fĂȘted to lunch at level 40 of Tower 1.

The activities are in tandem with efforts by Petronas to fulfil an integral part of its corporate mission which is to broaden and enrich lives through education and experiential learning.

The event was organised under the company’s annual Sentuhan Kasih programme, which is a continuation of Petronas’ tradition of reaching out to the less privileged members of the community during festive seasons.

The Sentuhan Kasih programme, which was launched in 2005, also aims to nurture and enhance the spirit of giving and volunteerism among its employees.
