THE local food and beverage and entertainment scene welcomed the arrival of Tapis Rouge, Klang Valley’s latest theatre restaurant, recently.
Tapis Rouge is an innovative combination of a chic restaurant and theatre lounge that is set in the Red Carpet Avenue , which is a covered boulevard inspired by Paris’ Champs-Elysees.
Launched recently, the Tapis Rouge, which means Red Carpet in French, is an anchor tenant of the Red Carpet Avenue at Encorp Strand, Kota Damansara.
The restaurant has a contemporary interior decor that thematically plays with the hues of deep rouge, evoking a sense of understated elegance.
Through a strategic partnership with Encorp and Modesto’s, Enfiniti Vision Media, the award-winning producer for the movie Puteri Gunung Ledang and P. Ramlee the Musical, plays the role of providing entertainment content for this one-of-a-kind outlet.
The rear of Tapis Rouge houses a caberet club lounge, an intimate space equipped with an extendable stage ideal for entertainment of various types.
The ambassador of the lounge is none other than the Kit Kat Klub Show, the song, dance and comedy revue founded by Datin Seri Tiara Jacquelina in the 1990s, famous for introducing some of Malaysia’s better known celebrities such as Sofia Jane, Pat Ibrahim, Linda Jasmine, Nasha Aiz, Maria Farida, Maple Loo and Sasha Bashir.
With an exciting dance showcase with vocal and comedy performances interweaved, the show offers a complete entertainment experience.
“The Kit Kat Klub was where it all began for me. That was the playground of our imagination and the birthplace of our creativity,” said Tiara.
“Tapis Rouge is the ‘home’ we always dreamed of having, a place we could perform regularly. I hope we will be able to develop and nurture new talents for the Kit Kat Klub, the way we did in the past,” she added.
During the launch, the anticipated return of the Kit Kat Klub featured a line-up of the ‘original’ as well as new members of the show, directed by celebrity choreographer Pat Ibrahim and choreographed by Wadi Ridhzuwan.
Adding zest to the event were the original Kit Kat Klub performers — award-winning celebrity Adibah Noor, Maria Farida, Juita Jalil and Aaron Khaled.
The Kit Kat Klub performs two sets a night, every Friday and Saturday from 9pm. Complementing this is a Comedy Night every Tuesday and Stars Night every Wednesday featuring guest artistes such as Ida Mariana, Onn San and Friends, as well as Stephanie Van Driesen.
