Astro opens B.yond IPTV concept store

KUALA LUMPUR: To know more about the features of Astro's B.yond IPTV (Internet Protocol television) service, you can now just walk into the Astro B.yond IPTV concept store in Mont Kiara. This first-of-its kind store gives visitors the opportunity to get upclose and personal with the features of the service.

"The set-up of our IPTV concept store is designed for visitors to understand the IPTV experience and realise their aspirations for a truly digital home entertainment experience," said Liew Swee Lin, the chief commercial officer of Astro Malaysia.

At the concept store, visitors can discover the advantages of the IPTV service as well as to test and experience the 30Mbps high-speed fibre broadband connectivity. Visitors can also experience a live demonstration of Astro's IPTV-enabled premium TV offerings with HD (High Definition), PVR (Personal Video Recording) and VOD (video on demand) functionality.

They also get to experience the IPTV home cinema experience with acoustically treated walls and a comfortable living room design. Naturally, visitors can also sign-up for Astro B.yond IPTV service at the store.

Astro B.yond IPTV is a strategic collaboration between Astro and Time dotCom Bhd (Time). It offers HD, PVR, VOD and high-speed Internet connection up to 30Mbps.

At present, a total of 96 Astro B.yond IPTV-ready high-rise condominiums within Mont Kiara, Bangsar and the KLCC area are able to receive the service. Since the launch of Astro B.yond IPTV in April, 1,500 customers have signed-up for the service, the company said.

For a limited time, customers who sign up or upgrade to Astro B.yond IPTV will receive up to two free HD PVR decoders and two months of free broadband with savings of up to RM596. The Astro B.yond IPTV concept store is located at No 5, Jalan Solaris 2, Gound Floor, Solaris Mont Kiara.
