"Let the kitchen be thy apothecary and let food be your medicine" - Hippocrates
CUMIN or jeera was a very integral part of my childhood. Our family drank jeera water on a daily basis.
Cumin is a very important spice in every Indian kitchen. Its medicinal uses are immense. It’s used to treat hypertension and diabetic.
Apart from being used in the daily preparation of meals, it’s also recommended to be taken as it is. It can be used roasted or in powdered form as well.
I have been advised to chew about three to four pinches of this spice, three times a day to assist with and maintain the elasticity of the heart valves.
This spice is also used to combat colic in children. It also aids in nausea and vomiting for both children and adults.
Cumin is also good for mouth-related diseases. One is supposed to gargle or chew them.
This spice is also noted as a blood purifier, helps with eye irritation and dissolvement of kidney stones. However, this is only possible with continued everyday use.
Please take not that it’s always wise to consult a certified traditional medical practitioner for the right dosage for treatments sought.
