Jia Ma launches book on politicians

What say you on the issue below?

KUALA LUMPUR: Renowned commentator and Chinese radio station 988 deejay Jamaluddin Ibrahim — better known as Jia Ma among the Chinese community — has launched his first book featuring interviews with politicians from both Barisan Nasional and the Opposition.

The book entitled Authored States: Musings of Jamaluddin Ibrahim also includes a compilation of his commentaries on various current issues.

“I took a light-hearted approach when writing this book. It helps me understand the views and concepts of these politicians better before writing my own comments,” he told reporters after the launch of the book here yesterday.

Jamaluddin said the book was to “test the waters” to see how well it would be received by the readers.

“If the response is good, I will consider writing more books on current affairs, culture, religion and politics,” he said.

Jamaluddin is the son of famous Malaysian Communist Party leader Shamsiah Fakeh and was born in Beijing. He is one of the hosts of 988’s “Say Hi to Malaysia” programme and also regularly releases commentaries in Chinese newspapers and magazines.

The politicians featured in the book include Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua and MCA president and Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat. Others are Batu MP Tian Chua, Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng, former MCA vice-president Datuk Donald Lim and Kuala Selangor MP Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
